Say what you want about energy drink sponsorships, but they're sure as hell less morally corrupt then the big tobacco and oil brands that sponsored many teams back then. Do you really want people to connect the sport to that? Especially with the increased focus of environmentalism today? HELL NO.

The biggest thing about these old liveries was that some freedom was given to the overall design. If we let teams "artistically" work in logos and colors, almost any sponsorship could look good. But excessive restrictions on how logos can be displayed and how brand color schemes must be followed often limit how these cars turn out.

Its not like energy drinks are that healthy for you, and the oil companies (while literally fuelling the economy) have probably killed more people with leaded gas, pollution, environmental disasters, and questionable wars than tobacco. Love that John Player Lotus!
